MegaSys™ is pleased to announce that Embarq, a divestiture of Sprint, has installed a powerful MegaSys™ Telenium™ fault tolerant element management system and network management system.
This Telenium system deployment provides two tiers of the TMN architecture utilizing the integrated Telenium product suite. The Telenium EML provides for direct connection and control of Embarq’s massive fiber optic and cross connect network. The Telenium NML provides a combined monitoring and control of the entire network.
A key feature of this deployment for Embarq is the ability of the Telenium system to automatically backup all network element databases so that a restoration of a failed network element can be performed rapidly. The direct cost savings to Embarq are significant and the deployment of the Telenium system provides an excellent ROI. The Telenium system also provides a consistent provisioning management interface for all the different types of network elements within the Embarq network.
Also critical to Embarq is the auto discovery of the fiber optic rings. The Telenium product achieves this objective using its powerful object-oriented database to correlate ring and linear network deployments in a highly intuitive and dynamic ring graphic that reflects active alarm conditions on any of the directions, working/protection channels or spurs.
